Eliquis is a prescription medicine used to:

I’ve been on Eliquis since approximately 2007 and have had no bleeding issues. I’ve had dental work done with no problems, fortunately for me, so I am not a bleeder although there are many paeople that are, that’s why it’s important to discuss taking any blood thinner, with your physician.
Talk to your healthcare team before any medical procedures. ELIQUIS may need to be stopped before surgery or a medical or dental procedure. Your doctor will tell you when you should stop taking ELIQUIS and when you may start taking it again.
If you have to stop taking ELIQUIS, your doctor may prescribe another medicine to help prevent a blood clot from forming.
Patients that have Atrial Fibrillation typically are prescribed Eliquis, a blood thinner to help prevent a stroke caused by blood clots:
