This Show horse had an Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation with the new vMap procedure that just came out FDA approved in 02/2022

Diamant’s Ablation Was the First of it’s Kind

“I feel very fortunate to be a part of this new evolution of advanced technology as I research for new treatment, procedures, cures, and surgeries for A-Fib.

I am stunned and amazed how far we have come and how fast we technology is going, but mostly I’m amazed at all of the effort the medical professionals are contributing”. (Author) A Lucky Show Horse Stallion From Norway, how awesome is that!

They saved a horse’s life from Atrial Fibrillation, giving him an operation that he needed before his life would have ended! Obviously I’m an animal lover and I know there’s many people out there who are, don’t you find this incredible?

Ever since I came across Diamonts story, I can’t get it out of my head, seeing him practically smiling in his photo after a 4 hour surgery.

Diamant’s ablation was performed at Ghent University in north west Belgium. This was a worlds first of it’s kind in the wole world! Never before has ablation been used in a horse, it’s mostly because horses don’t fit in a CT or MRI machine.

The entire procedure was guided by a group of specialists from the University of Ghen’s Equine Cardio team. The team guided the whole procedure by cardiac ultrasound.

With a 3-dimensional recording of all electrical activity in the heart, they were able to map the precise spot in the heart where the aarhythmia originated. The vMap was FDA approved in February 2022, what a lucky horse.

Lead veterinarian professor Gunther van Loon said ” the technique opened broad perspectives for treatment of arrhythmias in horses or other large animals in future”

The ablation catheter was guided to the right spot whereas normal heart rhythm immediately resumed.

Diamant made a full recovery and is scheduled to return to competition soon.

Keep in mind, this is a very new procedure that the Equine Cardioteam will continue to develop further with the mapping and ablation technique.

The continued research for the vMap

Carlsbad, California-Vektor Medical, inc announced that a dual center study reports that vMap, as part of a new, non-invasive workflow, improved efficiency and precision for the cardio-ablation therapy in the six studied patients. ( This gives so much hope to so many people, face it, we need this as this arrhythmia is going to more than double in 2030 in the USA alone).

The vMap was able to support the effective treatment of patients who were unable to undergo traditional invasive ablation therapy, especially for those with VT for whom other theraputic options have failed previously, said Rob Klummen, president and COO of Vektor Medical.

Vektor Medical has developed a patented, next generation technology designed for functionally mapping cardiac arrhythmias. Vektor Medical was founded in 2017 by a team of engineers, scientists, doctors and entrepreneurs with the shared belief that harnessing the power of computational modeling could vastly improve cardiac arrhythmia care. Vektor Medical is based in Carlsbad, CA. To learn more, visit https://www.vektormedical.com.

About vMap

vMap is a proprietary, non-invasive arrhythmia mapping technology that analyzes the information contained in a patient’s standard ECG. The vMap technology has been designed to provide physicians with actionable information on arrhythmias in all four chambers of the heart using a rapid, non-invasive, and workflow-optimized process.

These insights are designed to assist the evaluation, investigation, and treatment of the arrhythmia source. Vektor Medical is in the process of applying for FDA clearance for vMap, which is not currently available for distribution.

Covid-19 Aftershock Causes Wave of Increasing Atrial-Fibrillation, The Correlation Revealed

New Onset of Atrial Arrhythmias in Covid-19 Patients

Atrial arrhythmias may indicate a poor chance of recovery in patients hospitalized with covid-19, and Atrial Arrhythmias (AAs) occur at high frequency in this population. Researchers sought to investigate mortality in patients hospitalized with covid who have new onset AA or a history of AA.

Exercise is so important when You Have A-Fib Troubleshooting Atrial Fibrillation’s causes have been narrowed down to high blood pressure. When Covid-19 hit, it caused an aftershock and a wave of patients that now have A-Fib according to the National Library of Medicine A relationship between COVID-19 infection and an increasing incidence of atrial fibrillation has been observed. However, the underlying pathophysiology as a precipitant to AF has not been reviewed. This paper will consider the possible pathological and immunological AF mechanisms as a result, of COVID-19 infection.

Two cases of patients with covid-19 ( two middle-aged men) aquired Atrial Fibrillation with no significant medical history of arrhythmias. One of the patients developed a fever, which led to the diagnosis of infrection of Sars-CoV-2.
