Learning About Heart Disease
You’re Not Alone
Hi, I’m Sherry and the author of this website, I’d like to share a short inspirational story of what the power of people working together can do. I joined a heart disease support Team and found many members that have Atrial Fibrillation as I do, heart hisease comes in many forms, Conjestive Heart Failure, Aortic Stenosis, CHS, are some. I’m still learning about heart disease.
There are so many different types of heart disease to learn. The feeling of going it alone with A-Fib was a turning point for me about a year ago. I started searching for A-Fib groups that I could join and be supportive to others that are going through the same thing.
Finding A Quality Support Group
So, after many searches, I ran across “MyHeartDiseaseTeam.com“, where you can add people to your team that you can relate to. I’m thrilled to be a part of such a great support group. I’d been looking for quality support groups to join with the same heart disease issues for about a year or so but they didn’t talk about Atrial Fibrillation.
I started my own group on facebook but couldn’t reach a very big audience to keep it going. So, you can imagine how excited I was when I found My Heart Disease Team! I’m learning about heart disease from someone elses experiences and perspectives. I had no idea there was so many different kinds of Heart disease.
About The Support Platform
Inside the platform you have many people to choose from, you can pick people in your area or close to it. You do eventually make friends there and that’s very easy to do, as the people are wonderful, good and bad days, but genuine people that have heart disease like so many of us do.
When someone is down, we pick them up, if someone asks a question, we answer back and always wish them well. We’re all in this together and we’re all learning from each other and how to deal with heart disease (it comes in many forms).
Learning About Heart Disease Giving and Receiving Support
I read their story’s and a lot of these people have gone through so much more than myself, it makes my disease seem very small, even though it isn’t. I always comment or give them links to posts that I think will help their situation.
I’ve had the priviledge to get to know some of them and some have passed on. It’s heart breaking how many lives heart disease has taken ans stolen their quality of life before they are taken from this earth.
There is No cure for Atrial Fibrillation, only Solutions
There are stents inserted into your arteries after heart attacks, pacemakers when you’re heart beats too slow and you’re at the end of the road for any alternative treatment.
There’s “The Watchman” procedure to close off the appendage (blood pool creating blot clots) of the heart we don’t use, there’s ablation you may have to go through several invasive procedures that cause scar tissue purposely in this procedure, and it’s not guaranteed.
Recommendation
On the brighter side, we can’t let ourselves fall into the depression and anxiety levels that come with heart disease. Rising up with a positive attitude can help you through the darkest of days and so can this support group. If you need a fantastic group of people for support, I urge you to join, this particular group is the best around and I highly recommend it.
I’m going to leave you with this, “Rise Up Again” Quotes:
When there’s no hope, we learn an essential truth about living- It’s ok to not be ok sometimes. The strongest people are those who don’t give up when they feel crushed. Be patient, determined and be ready to begin life anew. Hope never leaves you, at times it just falls into a coma-revive it!
Dasha Yarmokenka
“As long as there is life, there is potential, and as long as there is a potential, there will be success! You will sprout again when cut down! You will rise again even when you fall!
Israelmore Ayivor
This is my hope and inspiration, I do extensive research on Atrial Fibrillation and since I’ve joined My support group, I have expanded my research into the many facets of heart disease.
I’m doing this so that I might comfort someone that is barely holding onto life, they may have depression, anxiety or other life altering side affects of heart disease. I want to help as many as I can and give them hope. We all have a calling, and this one’s mine. Paying it forward…
